Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Zeydi (“we”, “us”) provides the Zeydi mobile app and the website at zeydi.space. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. For any privacy question or request, contact support@zeydi.space.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Data: Email address, name, date of birth, gender, profile description, profile picture, timezone, and sign-in details: your password, or the identifier of the Google or Apple account you sign in with. We also record which versions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use you accepted, and when.
• Onboarding Answers: Your answer if you tell us where you heard about Zeydi.
• Relationship Data: Information about your connection with your partner, including invite codes and relationship status.
• Shared Content: Mood updates, activity descriptions, colors, status notes, Miss You signals, shared events, diary entries and their notes or images, Znaps (instant and one-time photos), captions, and reactions that you choose to add. If someone takes a screenshot of a one-time Znap, we record it so the sender can be told.
• Cycle Tracking Data: If you turn on cycle tracking: the period dates you log, your cycle, period, and PMS lengths, your cycle settings, and your answers to cycle reminders such as “Did your period start?”. This is health information, and we only process it because you choose to turn the feature on.
• Device and Notification Data: Device push-notification tokens, notification settings and permission status, device platform, and app version.
• Analytics and Diagnostics Data: Screen and feature usage events, app and device details, session or installation identifiers, and crash or error diagnostics. Section 5 lists exactly what our analytics include. Analytics providers may derive an approximate region from network information; this is not GPS location.
• Support Data: The name, email address, and message you send us through the website’s contact or account-deletion forms, or by email.

3. How We Use Information and Why

Where data protection laws such as the EU or UK GDPR apply, each use below names the legal basis we rely on.

• Running Zeydi: creating your account, linking you with your partner, syncing and showing shared content, and sending the notifications you have turned on. Basis: performing our contract with you, the Terms of Use.
• Cycle tracking: estimating cycle phases and dates, sending cycle reminders, sharing your period and PMS days with your partner if you choose to, and counting how cycle features are used (see section 5). Basis: your explicit consent, which you give by turning cycle tracking on. You can withdraw it at any time by turning cycle tracking or cycle sharing off in Cycle Settings. Cycle estimates are informational and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Improving Zeydi: understanding how features are used, and diagnosing crashes and errors. Basis: our legitimate interest in keeping Zeydi reliable and improving it. You can object at any time (see section 10).
• Safety and security: protecting accounts, preventing abuse, enforcing our Terms, and applying our minimum age. Basis: our legitimate interests and our legal obligations.
• Support and records: answering your messages, and keeping records of the legal documents you accepted and of age-locked accounts. Basis: our legitimate interests and our legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. What Your Partner Can See, and Other Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. While your relationship is active, your partner can see your name and avatar, status updates and status notes, Miss You signals, and content shared through Zeydi, including events, diary entries, and Znaps. Your email address, date of birth, gender, profile description, and timezone are not shown to your partner.

You choose whether your partner can see your period and PMS days. If you share them and cycle notifications are on, your partner may also get a notification when your period starts; you can switch cycle notifications to neutral wording. If your account was created before this choice existed, your partner can see these days until you make a choice in the app. You can stop sharing at any time in Cycle Settings.

Partner access ends when the relationship is no longer active. Copies or screenshots your partner has already made cannot be recalled by Zeydi. Widgets, Live Activities, and notifications can show your partner’s status on your home or lock screen, where people near your device may see it.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of people or of Zeydi, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

5. Service Providers and Analytics

We use service providers to operate Zeydi. They process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

• Cloudflare R2 stores media you choose to share and our encrypted database backups.
• Google (Sign in with Google, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics) and Apple (Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service) handle sign-in if you choose them, and deliver notifications. Firebase Analytics records screen views, and Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports in release builds.
• Formspree receives what you submit through the website’s contact and account-deletion forms.
• PostHog, which we host ourselves, receives allowlisted product-usage events and filtered error diagnostics. When you are signed in, these are linked to an internal account identifier and can include your age range, gender, where you heard about Zeydi, how you signed up, whether notifications are on, whether you have a linked partner, and your timezone and the country it suggests. When you use cycle features (for example, when a period start is logged or a cycle reminder is sent), PostHog gets the event without any account or device identifier, so we can count how cycle features are used but cannot link that to you. Events do not include period dates, cycle lengths, names, email addresses, diary or status text, images, media URLs, notification content, or push tokens. Diagnostics omit raw exception messages, and backend API error reports also remove request and account context.

6. International Transfers

Some of our service providers, including Google, Apple, Cloudflare, and Formspree, may process information in the United States or other countries whose data protection laws differ from those where you live. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses included in these providers’ data processing terms.

8. How Long We Keep Information

• Account data and shared content are kept while your account is active. Content you delete in the app is removed from our active systems.
• When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your account information in our active systems and erase your analytics profile in PostHog.
• Encrypted database backups are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted, so deleted information may remain in a backup until it expires.
• Firebase Analytics keeps user-level data for 2 months, and Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
• Website analytics (page views and heatmap clicks and scrolls) are kept in PostHog for up to 12 months and then deleted.
• Support messages are kept as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of your request.
• Age-locked accounts are handled as described in section 11.
• We keep information longer only where the law requires it or where it is needed to resolve a dispute or protect against abuse.

9. Data Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. Shared media is kept in private storage and access is checked before it is served. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Your Choices and Rights

In the app you can update your profile, turn cycle tracking and cycle sharing on or off in Cycle Settings, manage notifications in your device settings, and delete your account. You can also request account deletion through our online deletion request form.

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK, and US states such as California, you may have the right to access your information, get a copy of it in a portable format, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what we did before you withdrew it. To make a request, email support@zeydi.space from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity. We will respond within one month, or within the time your local law allows. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children’s Privacy

Zeydi is not directed to children, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

The app asks for your date of birth during sign-up. If you sign up with email and are under 13, no account is created. If you sign in with Google or Apple, an account is created at sign-in, before the date-of-birth question. If the date of birth you then enter shows you are under 13, we lock and deactivate that account right away. A locked account cannot be used or signed in to. We keep only the email address, sign-in provider identifier, date of birth, and date it was locked, so the same account cannot be used again. We do not use this information for analytics, marketing, or anything else, and we do not share it.

A parent or guardian, or the account holder, can ask us to permanently delete a locked account by contacting support@zeydi.space. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information in any other way, contact us at the same address and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Zeydi changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last Updated” date. The app checks for policy version changes and requires you to review and accept the current Privacy Policy and Terms of Use before continuing to use the app.
